Elevated fire danger and blowing dust concerns move in Friday afternoon

Red flag warnings, blowing dust advisories, and wind advisories have been issued for Friday. An aggressive cold front will usher in wind gusts 35 to 45mph creating the potential for blowing dust (visibilities 1/4-1 mile) along I-90 from Spokane to Vantage, Highway 395 from Connell to Ritzville, and Highway 2 from Spokane to Waterville. Because of relatively low humidity and dry conditions, we also have Red flag warnings in place for elevated fire danger as the winds pick up this afternoon.
