Just because a Boise police officer isn’t there to see you run a red light doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get a ticket. On Tuesday, the Boise City Council unanimously approved an agreement with the Ada County Highway District to start a pilot program using red light enforcement cameras in the City of Boise. This agreement, which is needed to place the cameras on lights in the county, is the first step in setting up the cameras that would be able to use license reader plate technology to capture when drivers run red lights and issue tickets.
