INDOT: Part of Tekoppel Avenue to be closed this weekend as part of Lloyd 4U work

A West Side street will be closed this weekend as part of the Lloyd4U construction project, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Tekoppel Avenue will be closed between Claremont and Corbierre avenues from 6 a.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Sunday as crews begin removing the westbound portion of the Lloyd Expressway bridge overhead.

The Lloyd work – which is happening simultaneously as INDOT-led snarls on Interstate 69 and U.S. 41 – has already eliminated the stoplight at Vann Avenue and launched changes at Stockwell Road. Overhauls to Burkhardt Road and Cross Pointe Boulevard are slated to start next year. The entire project is supposed to wrap up around 2028.
