Daly City homicide victim identified as ‘beloved father’

( KRON ) — A man who was killed in Daly City on Sunday has been identified as 60-year-old Rolando Yanga. A mother and son were arrested for Yanga’s shooting death.

Yanga was killed at about 7:10 p.m. on the 1300 block of South Mayfair Avenue.

“We are devastated to share the tragic loss of our beloved father, Rolando, whose life was taken far too soon in a senseless act of violence,” a GoFundMe created by the Yanga family read.

Yanga’s son, Jeffrey, previously worked for the Broadmoor Police Department, the police department said.

The suspected killer is 21-year-old Maarij Abdullah Afridi of Daly City. His mother, 50-year-old Daly City resident Zaib Un Nisa Afridi, was arrested for being an alleged accomplice.

Both suspects were booked into jail for charges including first-degree murder.
