Pooler community dealing with break-ins

POOLER, Ga. (WSAV) – Residents of a community in Pooler are demanding answers after a recent string of break-ins.

Neighbors say they are frustrated and concerned about the increasing crimes in their area, ranging from car break-ins to stolen Halloween decorations.

One resident even reported an attempted home burglary.

“If somebody is breaking into my house and my kids are there, we’re going to do something about it,” one neighbor said, reiterating the concerns of many in the Godley Park and Highlands communities.

Sydney Montgomery, a resident, shared that her $2,800 camera, which had pictures of her children on it, was stolen from her car.

“It was my brand-new car that got broken into. I really feel violated, and I don’t feel safe at all,” Montgomery told WSAV.

Community members have compiled videos they believe show crimes in progress, but no arrests have been made at this time. Despite having private security patrols in the neighborhood, Montgomery says they haven’t been effective.
