Thieves hit Brentwood homes, neighbors find about $15K worth of items stolen

Thieves ransacked a pair of homes on Thursday night in Brentwood, and both neighbors reported losing about $15,000 worth of items.

Security footage from one home shows three masked suspects crawling under patio furniture before entering through an open window.

The homeowner, Simon House, told KTLA’s Ellina Abovian that he was eating dinner nearby with his girlfriend when they received an alert on the Ring app.

House said they’d left the window open for fresh air.

Once home, they found their belongings thrown all over the house.

“You just feel violated, like your personal space has been taken advantage of,” he said.

House said when he spoke with his neighbor on Friday morning, he learned her house was hit shortly after the security footage showed the thieves leaving his property.

The neighbor found a glass door and window broken, and the suspects escaped with jewelry and other valuables.

“Something needs to be done,” said House. “I don’t know if that’s harsher penalties, but something’s gotta be done.”
