SCOTT, La. ( KLFY ) — Scott Middle School was locked down due to a threat that turned out to be a misidentified gun, authorities said.
Reports said a note was found saying someone at the school was armed with a gun. Officials said the School Resource Officer determined the student named had a laser light, which was confiscated.
The lockdown was lifted and students will be dismissed on schedule, authorities said.
It was the second time the school was locked down today. Earlier, a nearby gas leak forced students to shelter in place.
