Scottsville nonprofit transporting hurricane relief via school bus

SCOTTSVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – A nonprofit in Scottsville is using an unlikely method to transport donations to people impacted by Hurricane Helene. Converted school bus homes are carrying the items from Scottsville to Western North Carolina. Scottsville Task Force 17 is collecting nonperishable food items. Its captain Jack Maxwell said Scottsville’s history with natural disasters is behind the community’s swift response to help out with Helene.
