Brayden’s Gift set to host ‘Ride for Autism’ event

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Brayden’s Gift is hosting their second “Ride for Autism” event tomorrow. The family-friendly event will feature a puzzle run, car and bike show.

According to Brayden’s Gift, the purpose of the “Ride for Autism,” event is to help support families with children with autism.

“Brayden’s Gift is a local organization, and we raise money for kids with autism,” said Brayden’s Gift Volunteer, Michael Devault. “The founder [is] Shay Morath. Her son, Brayden, is the inspiration for the foundation. He is on the spectrum for autism. He’s nonverbal. Shay and her husband Ryan started this foundation to help out kids in the area.”

Along with the run and show, there will be live music, dinner, gameday broadcast, a live and silent auction, and more. Kids will be able to enjoy bouncy houses and face painting.

Devault said the funds raised at the event will help local children.

“Currently, Brayden’s Gift is assisting four local kids directly with financial needs for their ABA therapy, but it doesn’t stop there. Brayden’s Gift also provides financial assistance for kids for travel expenses [and] medical expenses,” said Devault.
