Avocados have once again taken over Carpinteria. Friday marked the kickoff to the 38th annual California Avocado Festival, also known as Avofest. The three-day event will feature not just avocados, but music, food, vendors and more. The event continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Linden Avenue between Carpinteria Avenue and Sixth Street.
