Here are places for trick or treating and other Halloween fun in the Wilmington area

From ultra-scary to family friendly events, there’s plenty to do in the Wilmington area to celebrate Halloween.

Here is a list of events happening in the Wilmington area.

New Hanover

Trick or Treat in the patch with baby goats

Amber Dale’s Pumpkin Patch & Christmas Trees will be hosting Hidden Haven Farms with baby goats and other farm animals on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the patch, 2307 N. College Road, Wilmington. Free entry. There will be farm animals, live music, pumpkins, carnival games, vendors, Surf City Sips food truck, photo opportunity and more. A fee will be charged. The goats and other animals will be available from 10 a.m.-noon. Professional photos will be offered with the baby goats, but visitors can take their own.

Spooky Swing Dance

The Cape Fear Swing Dance Society will host this event Saturday, Oct. 19, from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at the historic Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center, 120 S. Second St., downtown Wilmington. This Halloween-themed swing dance begins with a beginner lesson at 6:30 p.m. The dance starts at 7:30 p.m. (no partner needed). Costumes are encouraged. Tickets are $10, $5 for students with valid identification.
