Prayers Pouring in for NC State Quarterback Grayson McCall After Terrifying Injury

The NC State Wolfpack and Wake Forest Demon Deacons faced off in Week 6, and things did not go well for the team in red. Not too long into the game, one of NC State’s players suffered a serious injury.

One of the biggest transfer portal additions this offseason for NC State was quarterback Grayson McCall from Coastal Carolina. He spent 2019-23 with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and amassed over 10,000 passing yards and 88 touchdowns with the team before transferring.

In the three games leading up to Week 6, McCall had 476 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

McCall was scrambling to get a first down for NC State, but he was hit by three Wake Forest defenders and lost his helmet. Following the huge hit, McCall did not move for a period of time and left the field on a cart.

The NC State quarterback previously missed the last two games against the Clemson Tigers and Northern Illinois due to injury.

NC State was 3-2 through five games this season before the Wake Forest game.
