Colorado breaks record high temperature, ties another

Two more daily temperature records have been tied and broken in Colorado, continuing the hot start to fall.

The temperature in Colorado Springs reached 84 degrees, setting a new record high temperature for Oct. 5, according to the National Weather Service. This surpassed the previous daily record temperature of 83 degrees set in 1956 and 2020. The NWS also says that with more hours of heating, the record could be broken again.

Pueblo hit 91 degrees at 12:42 on Saturday. This ties the record high temperature of 91 degrees for Oct. 5, set in 1947. According to the NWS, the record will likely be broken, as there are several more hours of heating this afternoon.

These temperatures come after multiple heat records have been broken and tied across Colorado in the past weeks.
