SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A ninth death has been attributed to Hurricane Helene in Spartanburg County.
According to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, just after 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, two cars were traveling on Highway 292 near Inman when a tree fell across the road and forced both cars to attempt to stop, and ultimately collide with one another.
First responders transported Lester A Brown, Jr., 79, to the hospital after the crash. He ultimately succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, according to the coroner’s office.
