First Taste of Fall Around the Corner

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – This evening and tonight in the Valley expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with temperatures on the mild side in the mid- to upper-60s on Sunday morning. Kicking off your Sunday with more clouds than sun and isolated showers/storms possible especially for areas south of Highway 80. The clouds will give way to more sunshine by your Sunday afternoon, still enough moisture around to mention a stray shower/storm, with temperatures in the mid-80s with breezy conditions once again. Entering this work week there will be one more warm day before the Valley will get that first taste of fall; afternoon temperatures on Monday look to reach the mid- to upper-80s under mostly sunny skies. A dry cold front will move through the area throughout the day on Monday, leaving behind it drier and cooler air. This looks to be our first taste of fall with morning temperatures ranging from the low- to mid-50s Thursday through Sunday and afternoon temperatures in the upper-70s to low-80s Wednesday through Sunday. Expect lots of sunshine and dry skies throughout this upcoming work week. A quick check of the tropics shows Tropical Storm Milton has formed in the western Gulf of Mexico as of 1:25PM ET. This system will move to the east towards the Florida peninsula and make landfall around midweek. This system does not look to bring impacts to the Chattahoochee Valley.
