Pumpkin Patches to explore in the Texas Panhandle

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — As temperatures cool in the Texas Panhandle and Halloween around the corner, local pumpkin patches are opening for the fall season. From picking the perfect pumpkin to enjoying hayrides and exploring corn mazes, the Texas Panhandle offers several options for seasonal fun.

Maxwell’s Pumpkin Farm, located at 12908 South Bell St., offers a wide range of fall activities that includes hayrides, sunflower fields, food trucks and animals. Ticket prices are $19.95 online or $24.95 at the gate for general admission. Maxwell’s Pumpkin Farm is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 7 p.m. until Nov. 3.

The Gee Family Farms, located at 4651 South Whitaker Rd., will host “Flashlight Nights,” an event that includes hayrides, fire pits, popcorn and a night corn maze. The pumpkin patch will have a gift shop with hot cocoa and more kits available to purchase. The event is every Friday in October from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 for ages 4 and over. The pumpkin farm is open for general admission every Saturday until Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $7.
