Man dies in float plane crash near Big Lake

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Authorities say that a man is dead after the float plane he was piloting with his wife crashed into a lake near Big Lake on Friday night. The Alaska State Troopers said that a diving team was attempting to bring the body up from the water of East Butterfly Lake after a nearby resident found the submerged float plane in the water Saturday morning. The lake sits roughly 10 miles west of the community of Big Lake.
