Pedestrian killed in early morning hit and run

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fl. ( WKRG ) — A 70-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning in the Ensley area after he was hit by a vehicle.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a driver was traveling eastbound on West Detroit Blvd approaching Sharon Lane. The 70-year-old man was in the eastbound lane when the vehicle hit him.

Officials say the vehicle fled, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene by Escambia County EMS. The victim has not been identified.

The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect’s vehicle. The only description they’ve provided so far is that there is damage to the front bumper and front left side of the vehicle.
