MOYOCK, N.C. (WAVY) — Deputies are working an active armed barricade at the Food Lion area in Moyock on Sunday.
The incident is in the Moyock Commons Business district, and has the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office advising people to avoid the area of Lark drive and Moyock Commons Drive, deputies said.
Officials said that they have containment and the general public is safe.

The Caratoke Highway shut down between Sawyertown Road and Tulls Creek Road in Moyock, and traffic is currently being rerouted.
