First Taste of Fall Around the Corner

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – This evening and tonight in the Valley expect those stray showers to come to an end leading to mostly clear to partly cloudy skies overnight. Out the door on Monday morning temperatures start in the low- to mid-60s with some areas of patchy fog so use extra caution on the roads. By Monday afternoon temperatures will have warmed into the mid- to upper-80s on a day filled with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. A cold front will move through the Valley later in the day, which will result in our first taste of fall by the middle and end of the work week. Tuesday will be another warm afternoon with temperatures in the low- to mid-80s, but Wednesday through this weekend expect temperatures in the upper-70s to low-80s. Morning temperatures will also start on the cooler side with temperatures in the low- to mid-50s Friday through Sunday mornings. Throughout this work week expect lots of sunshine and dry skies. A quick check of the tropics shows we know have Hurricane Milton in the western Gulf of Mexico. This system will move to the east towards the west coast of Florida and make landfall likely as a major hurricane by midweek. This system does not look to bring impacts to the Valley.
