Adult and child struck by vehicle as they left church event in Beulah

BEULAH, Ala. (WRBL) — Investigators say a woman and young child both suffered severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle near The Bridge Church in Beulah. The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 6, as the two pedestrians crossed Lee Road 270.

According to Sheriff Jay Jones, the church was hosting a fall festival and some attendees had parked across the street. The woman and child were leaving the event and crossing Lee Road 270, when they were struck by a vehicle. Sheriff Jones says the driver immediately stopped after the crash.

The woman suffered critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The child was life-flighted, though the extent of the child’s injuries remains unknown.
