Nurses of Kapiolani Medical Center to return after lockout

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Nurses at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children are set to return to work on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, after a 22-day lockout.

The nurses will gather at the Bingham Roundabout at 7 a.m. before entering the hospital together through the Diamond Head entrance.

This gathering marks a moment of solidarity for the nurses, who have supported one another through a challenging year, including the recent lockout that began on Sept. 14.

Manoa residents concerned over proposed residences at Saint Francis site

Tomorrow’s event will focus on celebrating their return to the bedside and their victory in advocating for safe staffing levels for patients.

“We are excited to walk back into the hospital with our heads held high, ready to provide the care our patients deserve,” said a representative for the nurses.
