Six ARL kittens take on their own ‘Midwest Princess’ tour to meet Chappell Roan

H-O-T-T-O-G-O, these ARL kittens are on the go!

Singer Chappell Roan wasn’t the only one who made a trip to Council Bluffs on Saturday night when she played the Westfair Amphitheater there. Six cuddly kittens met the Midwest Princess of Pop there.

This summer, the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, or ARL, hosted a “Whiskerland” adoption promotion, inspired by the famous Iowa music festival Hinterland. Most of the pets were named for the festival’s headliners, including one named Chappell Bone, and it didn’t go unnoticed.

Kenzie Miller, event manager at ARL, said Roan’s team reached out to the rescue center after seeing “Whiskerland” and a “Hot To Go”-inspired TikTok from the Animal Rescue League.

When Roan’s team requested some kitten cuddle time before her Council Bluffs performance, ARL couldn’t say no.

“Kittens often benefit from socializing with a variety of people,” Miller told the Des Moines Register. “The morning of the concert, we set up our van for a field trip, including a spacious kitty kennel for the drive, and started our trip.”
