Lake Johnson Park-goers in Raleigh can now cross Avent Ferry Road with increased safety, thanks to the city’s latest installation of a new pedestrian beacon system. The Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) system, which was recently installed at the park’s crosswalk connecting the trail to the parking lot, aims to reduce pedestrian crashes significantly, according to city officials on the City of Raleigh website.
