PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — For the second time in history, the Petersburg Bureau of Police has become fully accredited.
Petersburg police has met its requirements to become a fully Accredited Law Enforcement Agency through the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC).
According to Petersburg police, this signifies that the agency has met precise standards of excellence in policing.
The accreditation is said to enhance the Petersburg Bureau of Police’s credibility and professionalism — contributing to enhanced public safety in the communities the agency serves.
