Man and Woman Accused of Stealing Televisions

Clifton Maclairn Neal III, 35, of Marietta, and Jasmine Shanae Garner, 32, of Austell, are accused of armed robbery on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. at an industrial building at 1730 Cumberland Point Drive in Marietta, according to arrest warrants from the Marietta Police Department.

Neal was purchasing used or damaged televisions from the victim when they engaged in a verbal argument over payment. Neal then produced a Taurus 9mm handgun from his waistband, pointed it at the victim and ordered them to load the merchandise into the back of his U-Haul truck. Neal then left the scene of the crime in the U-Haul, according to his warrant.

Neal was found hiding in the trunk of his girlfriend’s vehicle at a storage unit at Public Storage, 1679 Cobb Parkway SE in Marietta, not far from the scene, following a high risk traffic stop. Neal spontaneously uttered while in custody that he was at the location to buy televisions from the victim, felt threatened, drew his firearm and completed the transaction. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and the firearm was recovered. A second search warrant was obtained and 48 televisions were recovered from the storage unit, according to his warrant.
