Monday, October 7 forecast: Briefly cooler but warm and dry will return

It was a very warm weekend with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s both Saturday and Sunday. A cold front did come through on Sunday and will allow us to cool off today and Tuesday.

This afternoon will be mild in the low to mid-70s under sunny skies with a light northerly breeze. We’ll continue to be dry with low humidity this afternoon which may have you reaching for the hand lotion.

Tuesday will be a touch warmer in the upper 70s already and we’re back to the 80s on Wednesday.

The pattern overall will be similar to last week. The jetstream will move north into southern Canada keeping our weather dry and warm. The continental United States will largely be dry for the next 7-10 days with Florida being the exception thanks to another hurricane.

Checking on Hurricane Milton, the storm will make landfall on Wednesday night as a major hurricane. Milton has the potential to reach category 4 or 5 strength. This storm shouldn’t travel north and will likely cross the Florida peninsula from west to east.
