Vote: See new round of nominees for Springfield-area Student of the Week

With another fresh week ahead, it is time to take a look and celebrate our local accomplished high schoolers in the newest round of Student of the Week.

Student of the Week is an initiative by the News-Leader to highlight the academic achievements of local area high school students. Local high school students who have shown outstanding academic achievement and shown their involvement in the community were nominated by leaders at school districts in the area.

Voting is open until 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. Cast a vote for this round’s student of the week by visiting the poll below the nominees. You can submit one vote per hour.

The Oct. 7 nominees are …

Grace Pinkley, Summit Preparatory School: Described as a remarkable role model, Grace excels both in and out of the classroom, balancing her studies with a job. Last year, she initiated the school’s Native Garden Club and has continued to lead it, reflecting her commitment to outdoor spaces and sharing her knowledge with other students. The senior is also the historian with the local 4-H chapter. Her efforts have contributed to Summit Prep being recognized as a “Seed School” in the Missouri Green Schools program.
