Wichita plans for Open Streets ICT celebration

Wichita Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News the annual Open Street ICT celebration is Sunday. A four-mile stretch of Douglas will be closed down from College Hill to Delano from noon until 5 pm, so people can enjoy biking, walking, music, and other activities.

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Wichita City Council will consider an ordinance that would allow misdemeanor alcoholic beverage violations to be prosecuted in Municipal Court.

The Council will discuss making street improvements with capital funding. Mayor Lily Wu says they’re looking at four projects; 127th east from Douglas to 13th, 21st from St. Teresa to 119th west, Webb Road from Central to 13th, and First Street bridge over the Arkansas River.

Wu commented during Mondays with the Mayor with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
