Arizona Man Sentenced to 12.5 Years for Cocaine and Fentanyl Distribution

An Arizona man who fled law enforcement and crashed into a St. Paul police squad car at about 80 mph, injuring his passenger and a police officer, has been sentenced to 150 months in prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota announced on Friday, Oct. 4.

According to court documents, Paris Jackson, 39, of Tempe, was convicted of attempting to possess and distribute over two kilograms of fentanyl and cocaine.

His conviction stems from a November 18, 2023, incident when St. Paul Police received a 911 call about a suspicious package delivered to a residence on Lafond Avenue in the city’s Frogtown neighborhood.

According to police reports, the package appeared to contain cocaine.

Officers recovered the package, confirmed the presence of the drug, and removed the cocaine. Law enforcement then replaced the contents with a GPS tracking device and began surveillance.

Homeland Security Investigations and St. Paul Police observed Jackson retrieving the package and attempting to flee in a silver Audi.
