West Palm pizza place popular with locals, celebrities alike to close landmark location

Beloved by both locals and celebrities who live locally, City Pizza & Italian Cuisine , is closing its doors after 24 years at CityPlace in downtown West Palm Beach . They will serve their last pie from their location in between the Harriet Himmel Theater and the Dreyfoos School of the Arts on Oct. 31.

Known for serving some the best New York-style pizza in town, City Pizza has long been a spot of an affordable quick bite or a sit-down meal in a venue that continues remaking its image and price points.

Once an easy stop on the way to or from the movies or the bookstore, neither of which survived multiple makeovers, City Pizza was a steady presence that drew locals but also the celebrity pop-in.

General Manager for the last eight years, Flaire Singer recalled part-time Palm Beach resident Jon Bon Jovi stopping in several times, as has rocker Steven Tyler, NBA player for the Miami Heat Jimmy Butler, former NBA player Chris “Birdman” Andersen and Major League Baseball player and Houston Astro Jose Altuve.
