$10K reward offered in 2017 murder of 16-year-old on Southwest Side

CHICAGO — A $10,000 reward has been offered in the 2017 murder of a 16-year-old boy on the Southwest Side.

Jesus Escobar, 16, was standing outside in the 4800 block of South La Crosse on May 6, 2017, along with a 19-year-old man.

An unknown suspect shot Escobar and the man.

Escobar died the next day at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

A $10,000 reward has been offered by Cook County Crime Stoppers for information that leads to the indictment or arrest of the persons or people responsible. An anonymous tip can be called in at 1-800-535-STOP or the CPD hotline at 833-408-0069.
