Geico denies dropping coverage for Tesla Cybertruck after false claims

Geico is setting the record straight on its coverage of Tesla’s Cybertruck. Rumors had been circulating online this week that the insurance giant was dropping the truck from coverage.

It all started Friday, Oct. 4, when a Cybertruck owner posted on X, claiming that Geico had informed him that it could no longer insure his vehicle. He even posted a letter from Geico that states the truck “doesn’t meet our underwriting guidelines.”

Owners in New York and Kansas have reported similar issues. The claims circulated for some days before an official response from the insurance company.

Geico has now issued a response to these growing concerns, saying the company still offers coverage for Cybertrucks , both for personal and commercial uses. It cited the truck’s weight and potential repair challenges as reasons for the notices, but assured owners that policies remain available.

Meanwhile, frustrated owners of the trucks have been turning to social media, calling on Tesla’s Elon Musk to step in and help. No far, Musk has not responded to the matter.
