People continue to come together to bring relief to areas of Florida that have been battered by a number of natural disasters, even as Cat 5 Hurricane Milton threatens the state’s southwest.

From serving plates of barbecue to providing hygiene products, support is being offered.

For instance, large corporations like U-Haul are currently offering 30 days free self-storage and U-Box portable container use. All 13 U-Haul divisions in Florida have made their 162 centers available to offer disaster relief for victims of Cat 4 Hurricane Helene and now Milton.

“This allows every Floridian to access 30 days of free storage at any U-Haul center in the state, whether preparing for Milton or needing help during the clean-up process from Helene,” a company representative said in a news release sent to the Tallahassee Democrat.

For those looking to contribute, the Tallahassee Democrat has compiled a list of local agencies, organizations and businesses that are offering a helping hand.
