Norfolk jail contractor charged with bringing drugs to inmates

NORFOLK — A contractor who works inside the Norfolk City Jail has been arrested and charged with delivering drugs to inmates inside the jail.

Takeyah Gosha, 30, is an employee of a jail contractor and delivers canteen to inmates, a Sheriff’s Office news release stated.

A lengthy investigation by the Sheriff’s Office’s Security Threat Unit found Gosha was bringing in controlled substances and taking them to inmates during her rounds. The news release included a photo of packages of suboxone, a schedule III controlled substance.

“It is our expectation that all employees and contractors will behave with integrity,” Sheriff Joe Baron said in the news release. “The arrest of Ms. Gosha is an example of how we will hold ourselves and our contractors accountable when they act outside the law and / or our expected values.”
