Teen dies days after running off road, hitting tree in Rockingham County, troopers say; 2 juveniles injured

STONEVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — A teen has died days after a single-vehicle crash in Rockingham County.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, just before 4 p.m. on Oct. 1, they responded to a crash on Comer Road near Derris Road in Rockingham County.

Micah Lee Styles, 17, of Madison, was driving a 2005 Dodge Durango SUV on Comer Road when he traveled off the road, overcorrected and ran off the other side of the road, hitting a tree. He was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two juvenile passengers, a 16-year-old from Stoneville and a 17-year-old from Madison, were seriously injured and taken to the hospital as well, and an 18-year-old passenger from Stoneville was treated at the scene of the crash.

On Friday, highway patrol was notified that Styles died from injuries sustained in the crash. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
