Third annual Oktoberfest at Starlight Ranch exceeds expectations

The third annual Oktoberfest at the Starlight Ranch in Amarillo was a tremendous success, according to co-owner Bobby Lee, with more than 1,800 people in attendance, far exceeding last year’s crowd of 1,100.

This year’s event over the weekend featured traditional German food, music, and activities, while raising funds for both the local Police Officers Association and the SPCA through a lively Weiner dog race.

“The Police Department met their fundraising goal, and the SPCA exceeded expectation with more dogs entering the races than last year,” Lee shared. “We’re looking forward to making it even bigger next year.”

The event included authentic German music, food, and beer with German beer kegs brought in specifically for the celebration, drawing a diverse crowd, including many from the neighboring RV park. “Seeing the community and visitors come together like this has been wonderful,” Lee said. “We’re already planning for next year’s Oktoberfest. We’re expanding food offerings, bringing in more craft vendors, and increasing the number of kegs from Germany to meet demand. It’s incredible to see how much it’s grown in just three years.”
