Linemen arrive in Sarasota ahead of Hurricane Milton

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — Linemen began arriving at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds and Robarts Arena ahead of Hurricane Milton on Sunday.

Crews checked in to the fairgrounds and will stay in place until the hurricane has passed.

Crews from Illinois, Maryland, Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma, New Hampshire, Indiana, Utah, Iowa, and Alabama.

Sarasota County Fairgrounds and Robarts Arena opened as the first processing center in the state in preparation for Hurricane Milton.

Florida Power and Light Company is currently staging assets to begin restoration as soon as possible.
