Online court documents show William Roy Rush was scheduled to appear for trial on Oct. 7, but changed his plea to guilty before the trial began.

Under a plea agreement, Rush was sentenced to 20 years in prison for first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, two counts of kidnapping, first-degree robbery, two counts of third-degree assault, stealing and two counts of armed criminal action.

Rush’s co-defendant in this case, Justin Michael Lentz, was also sentenced to 20 years in prison in September 2024.

Documents say deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) were called to a residence on North Farm Road 171, where an elderly couple said they’d been victims of a home invasion and robbery.
