SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, I-81 North between the on-ramp and acceleration lane from Sunset Avenue to Exit 23 (370 East Park Street Hiawatha Boulevard) will be closed in Syracuse.
The closure will run from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 10, and is necessary to facilitate striping as part of the I-81 Viaduct Project, said the New York State Department of Transportation.
Motorists are asked to use the signed detours that direct traffic north on Sunset Avenue, to east on Bear Street, to north on Lodi Street, to I-81 North.
Construction is weather-dependent and could change based on the conditions, the NYSDOT said.
