NYC Mayor’s Aide Charged in Federal Investigation
Mohamed Bahi, a former aide to Mayor Eric Adams, is facing charges of witness tampering and evidence destruction related to a federal probe that indicted Adams on bribery allegations.
Senior City Officials Resign
First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright resigned on Tuesday, becoming the seventh high-ranking official to leave Adams’ administration amid the widening investigations. Schools Chancellor David Banks, her husband, and Philip B. Banks III, her brother-in-law, also resigned.
Adams Expresses Concern for City’s Diversity
Mayor Adams said Bahi’s departure could have a “chilling” effect on the city’s diverse population, particularly immigrants. He urged them not to withdraw from civic participation.

Wright’s home was one of several raided by federal authorities in September as part of the ongoing probe, which dates back to 2016. Adams faces charges of wire fraud, bribery, and soliciting foreign donations.
