Man, 23, arrested after armed robbery at King Street store

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Police quickly arrested a man accused of robbing a store on King Street shortly before noon Tuesday.

Officers with the Charleston Police Department were dispatched to the Vans store around 11:29 a.m. for an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The suspect is believed to have entered the store, presented a knife, and demanded money. When employees refused, officials said he stole merchandise and left the store.

“Within three minutes, officers located the armed suspect and arrested him after a brief foot pursuit,” officials said.

Nicolas Patrick Jarmy Crowley, 23, of Mount Pleasant, is being charged with armed robbery and possession of a knife during the commission of a violent crime.

He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

An investigation is ongoing.
