Georgia, South Carolina power companies prepare for Hurricane Milton

Ahead of Hurricane Milton making landfall, power companies in Georgia and South Carolina are working hard to restore electricity to areas left in the dark by Hurricane Helene. “While 99% of our customers have power again, we continue to make final repairs from Helene – primarily in the Augusta area – and continue a great deal of follow-up work,” said Matthew Kent, a spokesperson with Georgia Power. “Savannah-area repairs from Helene are essentially complete (less than 40 customers). We are continuing with that work as we monitor Hurricane Milton and are keeping all available resources in the area in case they are needed.”
