Tracking the Tropics : Hurricane Milton is a Category 5 with winds of 165 mph in the Southern Gulf of Mexico. It is expected to battle some wind shear on Wednesday before it makes landfall Wednesday night into Thursday morning as a Category 3 or 4 Hurricane along Florida’s West-Central Coast. This will cause a significant storm surge, devastating winds, and heavy rain across Florida. Milton has the potential to be one of the most destructive hurricanes on record for West-Central Florida.

Tomorrow : On Wednesday, Hurricane Milton will sit off the Florida West Coast, and it will start to battle wind shear from a trough of low pressure. Alabama will be between Milton and the high-pressure north of the state. This will cause it to become breezy across the region with winds of 10-20 mph. We will stay sunny and dry with highs in the lower 80s. Milton will make landfall Wednesday night into Thursday morning near Tampa, FL as a major hurricane with winds of 120-130 mph.
