New West Bottoms barbershop & whiskey lounge set to open

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With all these winning teams in Kansas City, we might need some new spots to watch the games.

This Friday, a new place is opening with a slightly different concept that may be for you.

It sits in the same space as the iconic Kansas City Club. At this new place, you can come in, have a glass of whiskey and even get a haircut, but it’s going to mean much more than that.

“We realize that you can get your haircut anywhere, we realize you can get a whiskey everywhere, but when you come here, we want to get you a feeling of quality,” Michael Thurman, owner of Patton and Ryan Barber and Whiskey Lounge, said.

It was a plan that started just three months ago, when it looked like a shell of what it’s transformed into and it’s on the shoulders of history.

“This building itself, right under our lounge, is some of the tunnels where they would smuggle bootleg liquor into this building,” Thurman said.
