New poll finds inflation and rising costs are top concerns for Pennsylvania voters

(WHTM) — The Commonwealth Foundation, a conservative-leaning think tank, released a new poll of Pennsylvania registered voters, finding that inflation and rising costs are top concerns in upcoming elections.

According to the poll , nearly seven in ten Pennsylvania voters say inflation and price increases impact their family’s ability to maintain a preferred standard of living. Additionally, over half of voters said their economic condition was worsening.

The foundation said that 57% of the 800 voters surveyed between Sept. 26 and 29 believe the state has “gotten off on the wrong track,” and 69% think the state’s economy is “not good.”

Inflation and its effect on American families has been a popular topic of discussion nationwide ahead of the 2024 election. With prices high across the board, the Commonwealth Foundation’s poll found that high energy costs are a primary contributor to inflation concerns.

77% of respondents said their energy bills have increased over the past two years, with a significant majority of those voters adding that they are concerned about their ability to afford their energy needs, according to the Commonwealth Foundation.
