Ohio State vs Oregon Prediction, Game Preview, and Betting Lines

Ohio State and Oregon have had an interesting history considering they’re not exactly geographically compatible and it’s been a one-sided matchup.

The Ducks pulled off a shocker early in 2021, and after the dust settled, that was just enough to keep the Buckeyes out of the College Football Playoff. It was the only time Oregon won in ten tries.

They first met in the 1958 Rose Bowl, played each other here and there through the 1960, met up in 1983, and they played in the first ever College Football Playoff National Championship – all Ohio State wins.

But only one out of those ten meeting was in Eugene – a 30-0 Ohio State win in 1967.

This time around, this is a tone-setter for the Big Ten race, the College Football Playoff chase, and it could determine the No. 1 spot.

It’s also the chance for Dan Lanning to finally get a big win – fine, two wins over Utah were nice, but don’t say the Fiesta Bowl victory over Liberty.

His Ducks got whacked by Georgia 49-3 in his head coaching debut two years ago, they lost three times to Washington – including with a College Football Playoff spot likely on the line in last year’s Pac-12 Championship – and now the best team in college football is coming into Autzen.
