Artlink BASH to kick off art auction

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Over 100 artworks will be up for grabs at the Artlink BASH as they are auctioned off alongside live music, desserts and cocktails.

The bash marks the beginning of the gallery’s annual auction and acts as a first look at artwork which will then be available to the public starting Friday.

Exhibit Coordinator Ellen Mensch said the events aim to benefit art lovers in Fort Wayne through raising money for artist workshops as well as the gallery itself.

“[The Artlink BASH] is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” Mensch said. ” … it helps us to continue offering exhibition opportunities for artists and offering educational opportunities to the community … even the percentages benefitting Artlink also benefit artists.”

This year’s Artlink BASH is a 50s-themed cocktail party. Guests may peruse the artwork on display and get early access to the art auction where they can make bids on pieces or artists’ workshops. There will also be several raffles, cocktails and various food for guests to enjoy.
