2024 TALK Greenville 25 Most Beautiful Honoree Ruby K. McBee-McCall

Ruby K. McBee-McCall lives a life of faith and purpose. She says it isn’t a path she chose, but is one that she has risen to embrace.

After her son Tiko died in a motorcycle accident, McBee-McCall threw herself into advocacy, working tirelessly to promote motorcycle safety and to get laws changed to require motorcyclists to wear a helmet.

Describing herself as a mother who is kind, authentic, purpose-driven, determined and positive, McBee-McCall finds strength and joy in her faith. She says one of the biggest compliments she has received is that she makes others feel comfortable.

McBee-McCall loves spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she has an ongoing project that brings a smile to people who most need one.

“The thing I love is being able to plant flowers for people that are sick and shut in, especially those with cancer,” she says. “My best friend and I plant flowers near their window so they can look out and see them.”

Though you might often find McBee-McCall at Mutt’s BBQ in Easley, wherever she is, it is a safe bet that she is working on something that will help others.
