Wednesday morning Milton update: storm remains a “catastrophic” Cat-5 storm; island under tropical storm warning

Hurricane Milton remained a Category 5 storm as of 5 a.m. Wednesday with 160 mph winds, moving east-northeast at 14 mph. The center was located about 300 miles southwest of Tampa and still on a track to make landfall along the west-central coast of Florida Wednesday night, then steamroll across the state toward the Space Coast, although there have been southerly dips in that track since Tuesday night.
